West Ham United: BBC Sport pundit makes David Moyes exit prediction as ‘awful’ verdict shared

David Moyes looks like he will leave West Ham despite his “unbelievable job” there, according to BBC Sport pundit Michael Brown.

The exit prediction comes after the club’s 6-0 hammering by Arsenal at the London Stadium on Sunday (11 February).

The East London club currently sit eighth in the Premier League table and are into the Europa League knockout stages.

“West Ham face a clear issue,” Brown told BBC Sport. “David Moyes helped them reach sixth in the table and it wasn’t enough because of the style of play. There’s a real negativity around them now. Is Moyes staying or is he going? It looks like he could go because a contract hasn’t been given to him.

“I was at the game against Arsenal and it was an awful performance. Yes, Arsenal take the credit, but the six goals were very worrying and the 15-minute period just before half-time was damning.

“Moyes hasn’t been dealt a good hand in regards to support but I think he’s done an unbelievable job and he’s come out and said ‘let’s not forget that’. He was very irate after the game against Arsenal and you could see why. But again, the players have to take responsibility – that wasn’t a good enough performance.”

Moyes to leave West Ham?

Moyes has done a superb job at the London Stadium club, and the majority of Hammers supporters will undoubtedly know that.

The Scot guided the club to a famous European trophy just last season, at a time when his position was under threat to due their struggles in the Premier League.

But he also guided the Hammers through those tough times, with West Ham now going strong enough in the current league campaign.

The pressure is, however, on the man in the dugout, seemingly due to his unattractive style of football. His approach against Arsenal certainly didn’t go to plan, with the Gunners absolutely thrashing their London rivals.

It was a very bad day indeed for everyone associated with the East London outfit, but it may just have bigger consequences for Moyes and his background staff.
