West Ham United attacker Manuel Lanzini ‘unlikely’ to leave club in January transfer window – journalist
West Ham United attacking midfielder Manuel Lanzini is “quite unlikely” to leave the London Stadium in the January transfer window, according to journalist Dean Jones.
The 29-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements under David Moyes for large portions of the season and has subsequently been linked with a move away from the club.
Lanzini was reportedly told he was free to find a new club in January, with West Ham attempting to raise funds following an expensive summer spending spree. [Football Insider]

However, former Eurosport journalist Jones believes the midfield maestro will be staying on in east London for the remainder of the season.
He told GiveMeSport: “I keep seeing this bandied about, but I haven’t really heard that, to be honest.
“I think a January deal for Lanzini is actually quite unlikely.”

Surplus
If Manuel Lanzini expects to get more game time in the second half of the season, he may well be mistaken, with Moyes coming under increasing levels of pressure in recent times.
Although able to produce moments of magic on his day, the Argentine has been too hit-and-miss this season and as a result, has regularly been left untouched on the bench.
With Said Benrahma, Jared Bowen and Lucas Paqueta all vying for the same spots in the starting XI as Lanzini, it is unlikely he will feature from the get-go in the league.
Having fallen down the pecking order, a January move away would make sense for all parties, so hearing this contrary news is a surprise.
Whether the Scot wants Lanzini’s experience in the dressing room or requires further creative options from the bench, the attacker looks like he will be staying at West Ham United until at least the end of the season.
