Torino want to keep Nikola Vlašić away from West Ham United – Fabrizio Romano

Serie A side Torino want to keep Nikola Vlašić away from West Ham United and will do everything in their power to keep him at the club, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Vlašić left West Ham this summer on loan to Torino after David Moyes decided the attacking midfielder was surplus to requirements at the London Stadium.

Romano admitted that Torino view the attacking midfielder as a “key player” in their project and want to keep him at the club.

“Torino also hope to keep Nikola Vlašić from West Ham as he’s key player for their project,” said Romano via his Twitter page.

It’s safe to say the Croatian has hit the ground running in Serie A and could have been an exciting weapon for Moyes to exploit this season in his West Ham setup.

West Ham

Stupid.

West Ham look like they will suffer a serious transfer blunder here, they agreed to a permanent purchase option for just £12.9m with Torino if the season-long loan went to plan.

This means that no matter how well the Croatian performs, that is all West Ham United will receive for him should Torino choose to trigger the foolish clause.

It’s no surprise they want to keep him away from the Hammers and it looks like they are getting themselves a clear bargain now.

Whoever was fronting this deal has some serious questions to answer, Vlašić looks like he could easily slide into Moyes’ team when needed and be a useful cog at that.

In seven Serie A appearances, this season the Croatia international has scored three goals, gaining plenty of plaudits for his technical prowess and ability.

It remains to be seen if Torino does indeed pull their deadly trigger, but considering Vlašić’s current form they would be stupid not to.
