West Ham United asked to pay £25.8m to sign Poland ace Jakub Kiwior
West Ham United will have to raise their offer for Poland defender Jakun Kiwior significantly in January, according to Italian media outlet La Nazione.
The Irons are said to have made a bid worth £10.3million in the summer to sign the 22-year-old from Serie A side Spezia but they were firmly rejected in their efforts.
La Nazione now report that Spezia are asking for up to £25.8million to sell the Polish international who has featured in both of his nation’s World Cup games so far.

His performances for Poland have seen them keep clean sheets in both group-stage games so far and top Group C with one game against Argentina left to play.
The Hammers are not alone in pursuit of the 22-year-old, however, with some of Italy’s biggest clubs AC Milan, Napoli, Roma and Juventus all hot on his tail ahead of a January transfer battle.
Big money
After parting with the best part of £150million over the summer, it might not be the smartest move for West Ham to go out and splash even more cash on further improving their team.
The season may not have gone as David Moyes was hoping or expecting before a ball was kicked but spending more and more isn’t the answer to the tough question he is facing.

On the surface, the squad at his disposal at the London Stadium should be comfortably good enough to drag themselves out of the tricky situation they find themselves in.
Patience and some fine-tuning is all the Irons really need to start coming out on the right side of the tight contests that so often occur rather than being beaten by one moment of magic from the opposition.
Luckily, the World Cup has allowed plenty of time for a reset and that can only be a good thing for the stuttering Hammers.
