West Ham United approach turned down by Rafa Benitez through intermediaries
Rafa Benitez has turned down an approach from West Ham to become their next manager as David Moyes facing an uncertain future, according to Six Foot Two.
Following the defeat against Tottenham, Moyes has once again come under pressure, but he will be given time, at least against Nottingham Forest to turn things around.
Benitez, who is currently out of work, is not interested in short-term deals. He has conveyed the message through his intermediaries, as he is only interested in long-term projects.
“He [Benitez] turned down an approach by West Ham through intermediaries about his short term availability, he is only interested in a long term contract I am told,” wrote the news editor of Six Foot Two on Twitter.

It looks like Moyes could be sacked at some point this season unless there’s a dramatic revival.
The recent results have been encouraging but the 2-0 defeat against Spurs has come as a blow for them. The club have have backed Moyes heavily in the transfer market.
The Hammers spent over 150m in the summer on new players and added a quality striker, Danny Ings, in January. However, the Hammers find themselves in the relegation zone, and that is not acceptable.

Will Benitez be a good option?
He certainly has loads of experience. He has managed two Merseyside clubs, Newcastle and Chelsea in the past, and knows what it takes to win Premier League games.
The 62-year-old is also a Champions League winner, having guided Liverpool to a historic European cup win in 2005. He won two league titles in Spain with Valencia, but he is out of work at the moment.
Benitez can be a good replacement for Moyes, but his methods and man management have come under scrutiny time and again.
