West Ham United: Andy Goldstein agrees with Kevin Nolan live on talkSPORT about James Ward-Prowse claim

Andy Goldstein has agreed with a bold claim by Kevin Nolan about West Ham midfielder James Ward-Prowse.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday (16 October), the Hammers coach said the 28-year-old has been “fantastic” this season since signing from Southampton over the summer.

Alongside Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes, he named the Englishman as one of the midfielders that has impressed him the most at the start of this campaign, with host Goldstein adding “I agree with you”.

“James Ward-Prowse has been fantastic obviously,” said a joking Nolan.

“I know we laugh about that, but I agree with you,” responded Goldstein.

“I don’t know how many other people are putting stats out there now like he is,” added Nolan.

Stood out

It is no secret that Ward-Prowse has not only stood out in the West Ham team this season, but also within the entire Premier League following his performances.

There isn’t anyone else in his position that has been putting up numbers like he has been and it’s hugely impressive after he has only just made the move to East London.

He has scored two goals and laid on six assists in his opening nine games to already go a long way towards proving why the Hammers were desperate to sign him.

The midfielder was extremely unfortunate to miss out on being selected for the latest England squad, with some players that are either not playing for their clubs or ones that are playing in inferior leagues being picked ahead of him.

He will be determined to continue playing at the standard he has been, though, and hopefully he can carry on having such an important impact on the pitch for us this season.

In other West Ham news, the club’s “top spy” has handed in his notice at the London Stadium.
