West Ham United and Liverpool sources share Jarrod Bowen updates amid contract talks with ‘tough’ agents
There is “no anxiety” at West Ham over the future of Jarrod Bowen and the club remain “confident” he will stay amid transfer interest from Liverpool, according to Claret & Hugh.
The Hammers outlet reported on their website on 26 September that “various Liverpool sources” have indicated the England international is only one of a number of potential replacements for Mohamed Salah in the eyes of Jurgen Klopp, disputing reports that he is the top target.
And amid ongoing contract negotiations at the London Stadium with the winger’s agents, considered “tough operators”, the talks are continuing “now on a regular basis” and there is no concern over their progress.

According to C&H’s “key source” at West Ham: “There is no anxiety. We have several months if required to sort this out and it always takes time. We remain confident Jarrod will remain our player.”
Reassurance?
It sounds like currently there isn’t too much to worry about for Irons fans, but the situation can change over time so it will remain an issue that requires a lot of attention.
Bowen is well integrated at the club, both professionally and personally, but Declan Rice’s exit this summer provided a possible blueprint to a future exit for the former Hull City man if Liverpool were to come calling.
The Hammers will be under pressure by next summer if they haven’t wrapped the 26-year-old’s contract situation up, so while there are still months left it should be priority from now.

Bowen’s form is a big reason why the club made a much-improved start to the season, with four goals and an assist in six Premier League games.
He is arguably the best player in the West Ham squad and the primary goal threat, so while the additions of James Ward-Prowse and Mohammed Kudus have boosted the attacking output David Moyes can’t afford to lose his star man.
Bowen’s strike at Anfield in front of Klopp at the weekend likely won’t have done anything to dampen his interest, so the contract extension is necessary to provide the Irons with much-needed security.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers had the “hottest striker in Europe” on a plate for £13million and missed the boat.
