West Ham United and Ghana star Mohammed Kudus suffers another blow with fresh injury update
West Ham star Mohammed Kudus is still suffering from a hamstring problem and it will be another week before he is ready to train and play for his country, according to Claret & Hugh.
Kudus missed Ghana’s African Cup of Nations warm-up game against Namibia due to the injury, and it is said that West Ham hopes he will not be risked in the tournament’s first game.
The injury blow suffered shortly before the tournament begins will be frustrating to Kudus and Ghana, who will want him back playing as soon as possible to strengthen their chances.

The West Ham news source spoke to their “top source” [8 January] who shared: “Yes, it’s about a week before he can play and train. There was absolutely no point given the circumstances that he could be included in a meaningless friendly.
“We hope he doesn’t play in the first Afcon game either as it’s an easy match. We hope he just comes back for the Egypt match next Thursday.”
Don’t take unnecessary risks
West Ham will want to make sure Kudus is allowed to properly recover from his injury before being thrust back into first-team action, but once he arrives at AFCON the club will have no control over how his game time and injury are managed.
David Moyes will have his fingers crossed that Chris Hughton allows his star player the rest and eases him back into the team, but the Ghana boss must also do what is best for his team and what gives them the best chance of winning the tournament, so he will need his best players out there.

The message from Claret & Hugh that the club hope he will be rested for their opening game against Cape Verde, instead returning next week against Egypt, shows that there are concerns around this injury blow.
This news has come after it was reported that Michail Antonio has faced another injury setback, while Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta both picked up fresh knocks in the 1-1 FA Cup draw with Bristol City.
In other West Ham news, one January exit has been put on hold.
