West Ham United and Fulham target Reiss Nelson may not sign new contract at Arsenal

Reiss Nelson may reportedly not sign a new contract at Arsenal amid links to West Ham, Aston Villa, Brighton and Fulham in the summer.

According to the Daily Mail [17 April], the 23-year-old prefers to stay in London and has a contract offer on the table from the Gunners.

However, with his deal running out in the summer, there are no guarantees that he’s going to put pen to paper on it.

Worth considering

If Nelson leaves Arsenal, there’s every reason to believe that he would be open to moving to the London Stadium.

Barring the current season, they have shown that they can compete with the top teams in the Premier League and they will be having the money to spend this summer.

Due to the sale of Declan Rice, it’s going to perhaps require a rebuild to get the Hammers back to where they want to be and Nelson will be a good player to bring in.

He will also get more game time at West Ham than he currently is at Arsenal and with the Gunners qualifying for the Champions League, they will need to sign more players.

This would see him falling further down the pecking order at the London Stadium and at 23, he may want to play more regularly.

Jarrod Bowen’s also understood to be on the radar of Newcastle, so his sale may force West Ham to enter the market for a wide attacker.
