West Ham United among ‘leading contenders’ to sign La Liga ace Samuel Chukwueze, £36m news emerges
West Ham are among the “leading contenders” to sign Villarreal attacker Samuel Chukwueze, according to Caught Offside.
The 23-year-old winger will reportedly cost the Hammers £36m this summer, but Arsenal and Real Madrid are also showing interest.
Chukwueze has 13 goals and 11 assists in all competitions this season, with the attacker shining in La Liga and the Europa Conference League.

“West Ham United are reportedly in a transfer battle with Arsenal for Villarreal forward Samuel Chukwueze,” according to Caught Offside.
“The Nigeria international has shone in La Liga and it looks like there will be plenty of interest in him this summer, with some talk in Spain of Real Madrid trying to snap him up.
“Still, it also looks like there is significant interest in bringing Chukwueze to London, with West Ham among the leading contenders to sign him for around £36million.”

Must buy
West Ham have shown in recent transfer windows that they aren’t afraid to get their wallet out and spend big on exciting talents around Europe. The signatures of Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca are prime examples in this regard.
The latter has definitely not hit the standards that many expected of him, but the former is slowly but surely showing his talents on the pitch.
The Brazilian has needed some time to find his feet, but is now producing several top displays for the Hammers, with those performances coming at the perfect time as the club creep up the Premier League table.
Chukwueze is enjoying a superb individual campaign, and £36million is really nothing for such an exciting youngster in the modern game.
The Hammers have struggled in the final third all season, and with the likes of Pablo Fornals and Manuel Lanzini getting older, promising young, attacking players will need to be added this summer, and Chukwueze definitely fits the bill.
