West Ham United among favourites to secure Jesse Lingard signing in summer – Roshane Thomas
West Ham United are among the favourites to sign Manchester United playmaker Jesse Lingard in the summer, according to Roshane Thomas.
The Athletic journalist has delivered the major update with the England international set to be available on a free transfer after this season.
Lingard failed to leave Old Trafford in January, despite being given the blessing of Ralf Rangnick to go through the exit.

Writing in his latest Mailbag for The Athletic, Thomas responded to the latest questions on Lingard ahead of the summer.
“They missed out on re-signing Lingard because Manchester United consider Moyes’ side to be top-four rivals but they will be among the favourites to secure Lingard’s signature when he becomes a free agent next summer,” he wrote.
“Playing time will be a priority when he decides his next move.
“Clubs from abroad have been credited with an interest in signing Lingard, so West Ham will face competition, but there are many things working in their favour.”

Priority.
With David Moyes still at the helm, it will be no surprise if the Irons go all out for this signing in the summer.
The gaffer is a huge fan of the playmaker and has been ever since his loan spell at the London Stadium last season.
Despite numerous failed attempts to get Lingard to London on a permanent deal, it still hasn’t happened, but there hasn’t been a red cross through this one yet.
Newcastle made strong moves for Lingard too throughout January, so it will be a huge race for his signature in the summer, no doubt.
West Ham could be in the best position to get that deal over the line, though, with another shot at European football well and truly on the cards.
Time to finally get this one done.
