West Ham United agree terms over Nathan Trott deal after two-year offer

West Ham goalkeeper Nathan Trott has signed a new two-year contract at the London Stadium, according to Roshane Thomas.

Writing via The Athletic (29 May), Thomas revealed that Trott, who was out of contract this summer, has had a two-year option in his contract activated, keeping him with the Hammers until 2026.

The 25-year-old has been on loan at Danish side Vejle Boldklub since 2022, but will not return to the club next season.

Trott is expected to continue his development with a loan move in England, having previously spent time with AFC Wimbledon on loan.

Nathan Trott will be desperate to make an impact at West Ham United

Trott has hardly featured for the Hammers since joining the club.

The goalkeeper arrived at West Ham eight years ago after he was recommended by ex-forward Clyde Best.

A one-time England Under-20 international, Trott had to wait five years to make his first-team debut for the club, featuring between the sticks against Doncaster Rovers in 2021.

That remains his only appearance at senior level for West Ham, and Trott will be desperate to get his opportunity at the London Stadium.

With talks of Wes Foderingham heading to East London, competition for a place between the sticks looks set to become even fiercer.

With Trott now tied to the club until 2026, all he can look to do is make an impression on Julen Lopetegui while out on loan.

But if more first-team opportunities don’t arise over the next couple of years, then Trott might need to start thinking about a move away from the London Stadium.
