West Ham United agree £50.7m deal to sign Lucas Paqueta
West Ham United have agreed a massive transfer fee for Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta, according to talkSPORT correspondent Alex Crook.
The 24-year-old has been the subject of two previously failed bids but the Irons struck an agreement overnight which would see them blitz their transfer record in a move worth £50.7million.
Paqueta, a Brazilian international, has been presented with a five-year deal at the London Stadium if he chooses to make the switch to the Premier League from Ligue 1.
The previous club record transfer for West Ham was that of Sebastien Haller who signed for £45million back in 2019, as reported by The Guardian.
“Looking more positive this morning after €60m [£50.7million] fee agreed in the early hours. Five-year deal on the table for Paqueta,” Crook reported via his personal Twitter account.
Huge
David Moyes is about to make his biggest move of his career as West Ham United manager and it could be the catalyst for a massive resurgence in the Premier League.
Manuel Lanzini, Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals will all become bench players overnight if the Brazilian pens his whopping five-year deal which would take the Irons from a mediocre midfield to an elite one.

They already have Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek to marshal the defence and build the platform for the attack to thrive but they haven’t had that X-Factor in the number 10 role to make it happen.
The club-record move would finally quash those problems and it could even see West Ham start to challenge for Champions League places which they may have to, to keep Rice.
But initially, it would be helpful if Paqueta could be the man to finally help the Hammers score their first league goal of the season and then they can go forward from there.
