West Ham United ace Tomas Soucek torn to shreds by Czechia media after what happened v Albania
West Ham United ace Tomas Soucek has been torn to shreds by Czechia media after his performance against Albania on Saturday.
The midfielder was yellow-carded within the first 15 minutes of the clash which has resulted in him being suspended for Czechia’s next game against Georgia on 19 November.
Soucek has been a regular feature for Julen Lopetegui’s team this term but his performance against Albania won’t have done much in his favour.
Reporting via the iSport website (17 November), the Czechia media outlet rated the midfielder a 5/10.
“He missed a great chance in the second half. It was enough to react better, he hit the ball badly in a small area,” they wrote.
“He often rushes in the passing game behind the defence, yet he is a holder in the back. A yellow card and distance is the bane”.
Tomas Soucek needs to buck his ideas up for West Ham United
One of the main reasons behind Soucek’s regular feature in Lopetegui’s team is due to the poor performances of his midfield rivals, Guido Rodriguez and Edson Alvarez.
While the former of the two is still getting used to the speed of the Premier League, Alvarez has just been fairly hot-headed this term with the Mexico international already receiving two red cards this term.
Even though the aforementioned pair haven’t been at their best, that doesn’t mean the midfielder can’t be dropped from the Hammers’ starting XI if things don’t improve.

The Hammers have underperformed massively this season as many expected them to be competing for the European places but instead, they’re trying to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.
Of course, on his day Soucek can be a strong asset to the West Ham squad but if his form doesn’t stay consistently good, it’s hard to see how he’ll keep his spot in the first-team.
In other West Ham news, Ruud van Nistelrooy has been backed to go for the Hammers’ managerial hot seat if Julen Lopetegui is sacked.
