West Ham United ace Maxwel Cornet already mooted for Bundesliga move

Maxwel Cornet has already been touted for a move away from West Ham after just nine games at the London Stadium, according to BILD.

The 26-year-old joined the Irons in the summer from Burnley after the Clarets were relegated to the Championship but he currently finds himself out of the reckoning through injury.

Despite that, he has already picked up three assists in his nine appearance for West Ham so far to suggest that he has started reasonably well while the Hammers struggled at the start of the season.

West Ham

Wolfsburg of the Bundesliga are now interested in potentially signing Cornet on loan when the January transfer window opens having twice failed to sign the Ivorian international in 2018 and 2021.

David Moyes is also not entirely satisfied with the performances of the 26-year-old in training at Rush Green and if that situation worsens, the Wolves could be in for a bargain January loan deal.

Vlasic Deja Vu

An exciting attacking player not getting the minutes he deserves and therefore not being able to produce his best work under Moyes’ management, sure sounds familiar.

Nikola Vlasic was in the exact same scenario 12 months ago as he tried to force his way into the starting lineup for any game he possibly could to show that he was good enough to remain at the club.

But Moyes’ now infamous stubbornness surrounding team selection meant he only occasionally saw minutes off the bench until the writing was already on the wall at the London Stadium.

West Ham lost half of what they paid for him in just a year as he joined Torino on a loan-to-buy deal over the summer where he is now seen as an untouchable among the squad.

The Croatian has proved Moyes wrong and Cornet will go to Wolfsburg and do exactly the same if this deal does eventually occur in January.
