West Ham United ace Lucas Paqueta sends seven-word social media message to fans after loss v Liverpool

Lucas Paqueta has sent a seven-word message to West Ham United fans after their 2-1 loss to Liverpool on Wednesday (26 April).

The Brazilian scored a superb opener after just 12 minutes to put his side ahead at the London Stadium.

But goals from Cody Gakpo and Joel Matip in either half saw the Reds leave East London with all three points.

Paqueta’s initial struggles at West Ham upon his summer move from French side Lyon were clear for all to see, with the Brazilian failing to hit the heights expected of him.

But the midfielder has silenced his critics in recent times, with Paqueta now scoring in three successive matches. He is undoubtedly a really talented player, and perhaps needed just a little bit of time to settle into life in England.

There is also the issue of a miserable season overall for the Hammers, with star players such as Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio also seeing their displays decline compared to recent campaigns.

Paqueta now has five goals and five assists in all competitions for his new club to his name, and while he will want to improve on those totals before the season is out, he is playing a key role in the club’s recent revival.

The Brazilian will no doubt push on and have a superb campaign next time out if the Hammers manage to stay in the division, which looks likely despite the defeat to Liverpool.
