West Ham United ace Declan Rice a player Manchester United ‘need’ – Jack Wilshere
In Declan Rice, West Ham United have one of the world’s best central midfielders so it’s no surprise that some big clubs have been linked.
The Daily Mail have reported that the England international has a £150million price tag on his head for any club that wants to try and prize him away from the London Stadium this summer.
Jack Wilshere, a former Irons player, is aware of just how good the 23-year-old is and thinks Erik Ten Hag should try everything he can to get him to Manchester United before the season starts.
“I will tell you what you [United] need, Declan Rice,” Wilshere told talkSPORT. “United need him.”
West ham have added another body to their midfield department this week with the signing of Swansea City ace Flynn Downes for £9million as he joins Rice and central midfield dynamo Tomas Soucek at Rush Green, as well as academy graduate Conor Coventry.
Going nowhere
If there was any chance of Rice leaving the club this summer, we would be hearing non-stop noise about it because no transfer would be bigger this window.
But we’ve not heard a peep ever since that whopping price tag was put on his head which suggests that no one is willing to match it right now.

And you won’t hear anyone complaining in claret and blue as it means we get to salivate in the knowledge that he will be marshalling our midfield once more for the 2022-23 campaign at the very least.
He may well leave the club next summer, or for free the year after that when his contract expires, but his talent is more valuable to us at this stage than any money he could generate.
No player as good as him would be willing to join us right now so we need to use his ability and leverage to make us an attractive proposition before he does exit the club in the future.
