West Ham tried very hard to sign five or six players in January
West Ham have tried “very hard” to sign five or six players this month, according to reports from Claret and Hugh.
Sky Sports reported yesterday that the Hammers have joined the race to sign Raphinha from Leeds United this month.
The 25-year-old has been in spectacular form this season, and he is currently in talks over extending his deal at Elland Road.

The report claims that Raphinha has been the subject of an inquiry by the club but Leeds have made it clear that they have no intention of selling him.
A key source close to the club shared that he was among five or six players the club tried very hard to sign.
Interesting
The Brazilian winger has scored eight goals and provided two assists in the Premier League so far, and he would be a big signing for any club.
However, West Ham badly need a striker, and not a winger this month.
Raphinha plays in the same position as Jarrod Bowen who has been in the form of his life this season.

A move for Raphinha is baffling unless David Moyes wants to use Bowen as an alternative striker going forward.
Claret and Hugh previously reported (27 January) that West Ham have made a £50m bid for a player but it is still not confirmed whether the player is Raphinha or not.
It has been an uninspiring window for the Hammers with the club failing to sign a single player this month. It remains to be seen if they can do some business before Monday’s transfer deadline.
