West Ham United transfer news as Alex Scott wanted by Premier League clubs this summer

Highly-rated Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott is expected to leave the Championship club this summer with West Ham amongst the teams interested in his signature, according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs.

Jacobs confessed that it is going to take around £25m to lure the future England international away from City, something well within the budget of the Hammers.

Wolves, Tottenham, Leicester City, Bournemouth and Newcastle United are also all interested in the maestro, Leeds were also in the mix when Jesse Marsch was their manager.

“Alex Scott expected to leave Bristol City this summer, as revealed in December. Concrete proposals arrived in January, but Bristol City held out for near-double what suitors wanted. Going to take around £25m. Wolves and Tottenham very seriously looking. Newcastle United one to watch,” said Jacobs on Twitter. (9 March, 12:58 PM)

“West Ham and Leicester also tracking. Bournemouth (Scott was at their academy) interest has cooled. Leeds were in the mix, but Jesse Marsch a part of that. Several Premier League clubs are going to try for Scott for sure come summer.”

Teenage kicks.

At just 19 years old Scott has the footballing world at his talented feet and hopefully, West Ham can convince the youngster of a move to East London.

£25m is a small price to pay for a maestro of Scott’s talents and he could be worth so much more if given the chance to shine in the English top flight.

Any smart investor would say this is a trade worth making and the youngster could be a shrewd bit of business from the Hammers hierarchy this summer.

Wonderkid Scott highlighted his talents in the FA Cup fifth round in a tie against Pep Guardiola’s fearsome Manchester City, proving he is more than ready for the step up to the Premier League.

Guardiola even labelled Scott an “unbelievable player” after the tie, a compliment from one of the best-ever managers tells you all you need to know.

Hopefully, the classy England youth international can be snapped up by the Hammers when the transfer window reopens.
