West Ham told where to play Nikola Vlasic by his dad
West Ham have been told to play Nikola Vlasic as an attacking midfielder by his dad, describing his son as a ten or an eight.
Speaking to Croatian outlet Nacional, the 24-year-old’s dad went into great detail on Vlasic’s skills and attributes and why the Hammers should play him as a number ten.
Since the Irons signed Vlasic from CSKA Moscow on transfer deadline day in the summer, he has made six appearances in which he has played as an attacking midfielder in three of them.

So you can see why his dad has sent this message.
He said: “Nikola is an offensive midfielder. [He] has an extremely rare feature that it is extremely dangerous in the last third of the field where it creates an advantage through dribbling, passing and running into the interspace and is extremely powerful in duels.
“These are the positions of tens and eights.”
A clear message from Vlasic’s dad.
It will be interesting to see if David Moyes decides to pay any attention to this or if he decides to use Vlasic how he sees fit.
The Croatian is versatile, and that ability to play in numerous different positions will surely help the Irons over the course of the season.
We can’t see him ever playing as a number eight, though, because that is Tomas Soucek’s role and he plays that perfectly.

However, playing him as a number ten is certainly possible, and that was where he thrived in Russia, scoring 31 goals in 95 appearances as an attacking midfielder.
So, that would make sense if he were to play there when Moyes decides to use him more regularly, but he could really play anywhere in the front four and probably have an impact.
This is a fascinating interview with Vlasic’s dad, and if you want to know more about the Croatian, then we recommend you taking some time to read it.
