West Ham to win Alphonse Areola race – Roshane Thomas

West Ham United are in full stride and are set to win the race of Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.

That’s according to Roshane Thomas, who claims that the club will now look to seal the final agreement with the French giants.

It is suggested that it will be a loan-to-buy deal, despite other reports claiming PSG only want a permanent exit.

This will add serious strength in depth.

Lukasz Fabianski is expected to keep his spot in the Premier League initially, but this move is described as great competition.

Any major mistakes from the Pole, and Areola will be ready to take that spot and continue his great form from Fulham last season.

Fabianski’s injuries have been cause for concern at the London Stadium, and there have been numerous goalkeepers linked.

The man.

Sam Johnstone has also been strongly linked this week, with reports of a £6million offer being snubbed by West Brom.

It was a cheeky offer, but after their relegation, it could have worked.

Getting this loan-to-buy deal over the line would be perfect, and it would allow the Irons to spend money on other areas of the squad.

The final third and in midfield are critical areas for David Moyes, who also has the money from Sebastien Haller to spend this summer.

Michail Antonio is still the only senior striker at the London Stadium, and maybe that should have been made a priority over the likes of Areola.

Hopefully, we can target players from big-name clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain throughout the window, they will be needed for our European tour.
