West Ham to table fresh bid for Filip Kostic which will be accepted by Frankfurt

West Ham are reportedly set to table another bid for Frankfurt left-back Filip Kostic and they’re expecting it to be accepted.

According to ExWHUemployee, £17million is what the German side are looking for and it’s understood that the Hammers are prepared to pay that amount or one enough to get them to agree on it.

They will also offer him heavy wages in order to attract him to the club as he will be missing out on Champions League football.

Ex wrote, “The original offer for Kostic which had been provisionally accepted has now been rejected.

“Whilst this is disappointing news it is not a disaster because the German side are pushing for around £17million for the player, which was the figure I originally reported it would take to sign him.

“We are expected to make another offer for the player, which we expect to be accepted, with the talks that we mentioned yesterday still scheduled to take place with the player on Friday (tomorrow).

“The club are prepared to offer large wages to sacrifice Champions League football for the move to East London. His agent (the same as Scamacca’s) could be key to the move here.”

Good signing

Aaron Cresswell is in the twilight of his career and surely needs to be replaced this summer.

While we do not expect him to be sold, the time has now arrived for him to serve as a backup.

The Englishman is not as efficient going forward as he once was and is often caught out of position as he’s no longer got the legs to cover up the space.

In Kostic, they’ll get someone a few years younger who’s arguably twice as mobile and can put in a terrific shift in both halves of the pitch.

He also gives David Moyes the option of playing a back three and that’s going to be crucial given the fact that the club now have three really good central defenders.

The Hammers have also opened talks with Maxwel Cornet from Burnley so it will be interesting to see how that works out should both he and Kostic join.
