West Ham to table bid for Gaetan Laborde today

West Ham are reportedly prepared to table a bid for Montpellier striker Gaetan Laborde today (Tuesday).

According to French media outlet Le 10 Sport, the Ligue 1 side value the 27-year-old between £13million and £17million.

The report states that the Hammers will align themselves to the demands of the French club in order to sign the Frenchman this summer.

Is it happening?

Laborde is a player who scored 18 goals and provided nine assists in all competitions last season, so he would certainly add value to our attack.

Michail Antonio may have started the season in fine form, but his fitness record is one of the main reasons why we’re keen on signing a striker.

Even if Antonio remains fit, one thing we admire so much about him is his versatility and he could play out on the right wing to supplement the central attacker.

The 27-year-old has shared the attacking load with Andy Delort at Montpellier so he could form a similar partnership with Antonio.

He’s also at the perfect age where he’s not too young nor too old so we can expect him to hit the ground running.

It remains to be seen how much we bid for him and what’s the response from the Ligue 1 side.
