West Ham to get record £228m in revenue for domestic and European success

West Ham United are set to receive a whopping £228million in prize money and TV revenue for the 2021-22 season, according to Claret and Hugh.

The Hammers finished the Premier League campaign in seventh after failing to beat Brighton on the final day as Manchester United, their rivals for sixth, were beaten by Crystal Palace.

Despite that, the Irons will pocket an eye-watering £125million for being the seventh-best team in the country this season but that is only the start of their financial delight.

That’s just the TV and prize money for the Premier League with their Europa League run to the semi-finals totalling £23million along with a big increase in ticket sales thanks to our run to the final four in Europe.

Commercial and sponsorship revenue has also been boosted to £28million with retail sales boosted slightly to £10million.

Add all that together, plus a few other small fees, and West Ham will receive £228million to put into the club’s coffers and that could support a major transfer window for David Moyes.

Huge

We all know just how much money is in the Premier League but when you spell it all out like this, it does blow the mind.

Moyes, along with owners David Gold, David Sullivan and Daniel Kretinsky, will be salivating in the mouth at the prospect of having all this cash to splash on improving his Hammers squad over the summer.

Not only might this help in that regard. but it could also allow the club to modify the London Stadium if UK Athletics relinquish their control to make it more conducive to football (i.e. get the fans closer to the pitch where possible).

But before the club decide what to do with all this newfound money, they need to come up with a clear plan to ensure they don’t just waste it in the wrong areas and the cup runs that have been the staple of the season need to be taken into account too as we won’t go all the way in so many competitions every season.

In other West Ham news, Moyes wants to rival one of the Irons’ London rivals for this out of favour Serie A midfielder.
