West Ham targets David Neres and Lassina Traore allowed to leave Shakhtar

West Ham targets David Neres and Lassina Traore will be allowed to leave Shakhtar, claims journalist Alan Nixon.

Writing in his latest piece for The Sun, he states that the Ukrainian club will allow the attacking duo to go out on deals after a special transfer window opened to allow those caught up in the war to leave.

FIFA also announced that Russia-based players could suspend their contracts, initially until the end of the season, in order to let them leave the country.

However, the fact that the Hammers have a settled squad has left Shakhtar to ponder whether or not they will get enough playing time.

Lyon, Marseille, Real Sociedad and Corinthians are understood to be the more appealing options for them.

Shame

It would’ve been great if the Hammers took advantage of this opening, given the fact that Michail Antonio is their only reliable striker.

Apart from that, he’s also injury prone while Jarrod Bowen is also currently undergoing a spell on the sidelines.

If West Ham can convince Shakhtar to sign at least one of the two players it will be a huge boost.

New signings bring that freshness into dressing rooms and David Moyes would love to have more options to choose from.

However, that seems to be unlikely as things stand and Moyes will have to be content with the players he has at his disposal.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have scouted a £20m-rated ‘Dangerous’ British striker and want to seal a permanent move this summer.
