West Ham target Ross Barkley training away from Chelsea first-team

West Ham United-linked Ross Barkley is currently training in a separate group to the Chelsea first-team.

Goal have reported that the playmaker is training with the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater in the academy building.

The Irons are currently in talks over a loan move for the England international for the rest of this season [90min].

As we have seen with Kurt Zouma, Chelsea are desperate to get some of their first-team players off the wage bill.

Barkley spent last season at Aston Villa, and clearly has no future at Stamford Bridge under Thomas Tuchel.

Jesse Lingard has been labelled as the priority signing in attack at the London Stadium, but that is looking more unlikely with each passing day.

The Irons’ starting XI has really started the season on fire, and a couple of extra signings could really help the squad depth.

Said Benrahma has filled the hole left by Lingard superbly with his goals in the opening fortnight, but there is a real need for more options.

Barkley will surely be desperate for consistent minutes in the Premier League once again after years of torment.

David Moyes is expecting a busy week in the window, and the signing of Zouma will likely be followed by attacking reinforcements.
