West Ham target Paul Onuachu will cost just £17.13million

West Ham United can land Genk striker Paul Onuachu for just £17.13million this summer, according to Own Goal Nigeria.

Own Goal Nigeria, one of the most respected football websites in Nigeria, recently reported that his agent was in London to hold talks with the Hammers and other interested clubs.

While it has been widely reported that Onuachu would cost West Ham and suitors £25.72million, the fresh report insists his agent told teams it would take £12.86million up-front and £4.29million in add ons to secure his signature.

“Clubs have been told it will cost €15m with add ons that will take it to €20m,” a source close to Onuachu told Own Goal Nigeria.

“That is his valuation not the viral €26m rising to €30m after add ons. This was discussed with teams in England and a bid is expected from one soon.”

Too good to be true

West Ham need a striker this summer, and that we can potentially get a quality one for just £17million is almost unbelievable.

Onuachu dreams of playing in the Premier League and a move to England is his preference this summer despite interests from around Europe.

The 6ft 7in hitman scored 35 goals across 41 games last season, emerging as the Belgian’s top-flight league highest goalscorer and player of the season.

The Premier League is a couple of levels above the A-division, but Onuachu has impressed for his country too, scoring twice in four games this year.

The Nigeria international ended his time in the Danish top-flight with Midtjylland with 74 goals in 181 games, and we see him as one capable of hitting the ground running in England.

West Ham have next to nothing to lose gambling on a striker available on the cheap, and there really should be nothing stopping us from getting this deal over the line.

Onuachu has been fit as a fiddle all his career, and the 27-year-old appears ready to take Europe by storm.

He could all ours for just peanuts.
