West Ham target Mohamed Bayo opens up about moving abroad
West Ham United target Mohamed Bayo believes that making a summer move will be a ‘logical step’ in his career.
The Hammers are in the market to sign an attacking player in the summer transfer window, and made a bid for the striker back in January, according to Le 10 Sport.
Bayo, who plays for French club Clermont Foot and has been on the radar of the Irons for a while, was quoted by RMC Sport where he expressed his desire for new challenges in his career.

“I’m close to nothing,” he said. “(Staying in) Ligue 1 can be good. But if there is an offer elsewhere.
“I want to progress. I think I have to take a step (forward). For now, I’m here and we’ll see. In any case, it is logical, after my season, that I want to see if there is a better project (elsewhere).”

Ray of hope for West Ham
Bayo, who has compared himself to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, was instrumental in Clermont Foot’s success in the 2021-22 campaign. He was one of the reasons that the club managed to keep their place in the Ligue 1 after finishing on the 17th position.
The 23-year-old was easily the leading scorer for the club in the league campaign with 14 goals out of a total of 38.
Those numbers were a testament to why he was such a valuable asset for the side in their efforts to retain their spot in the top-tier football in France.
It was also visible why West Ham were keen on signing the Guinea international after failing to land their target in January when they were willing to offer a fee in the region of £17 million.
It will be interesting to see whether the Hammers will make a move for Bayo in the summer transfer window, especially with the future of star striker Jarrod Bowen looking increasingly uncertain.
