West Ham target Jesse Lingard handed deadline by Manchester United
West Ham target Jesse Lingard has been handed a deadline by Manchester United to decide if he is staying at Old Trafford or not, according to a report from Claret & Hugh.
They claim that “senior sources at Old Trafford” have told them that the 28-year-old has to decide within the next two weeks if he intends to leave the Red Devils or not. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken to Lingard and asked him to remain, but the England international will hold “formal talks” to decide his future in the “next 48 hours”.
The report also states that “club insiders” have revealed that Manchester United need to know if Lingard is staying or going, so they can formulate their transfer plans.

Not much longer for West Ham to wait
This deadline is a good thing for the Hammers either way, as if he decides he wants to leave, they are probably in a strong position to make a move for him and bring him back to the London Stadium.
The 28-year-old is said to be keen on a move back to West Ham to work with David Moyes again, so within the next two weeks, we should know if this deal is likely to happen or not [the West Ham Way].
If Solskjaer convinces Lingard to stay, the Hammers can then quickly move on and bring in another option instead.

Therefore, this update on Lingard, either way, could turn out to be a good thing for the Hammers.
Surely Lingard will realise that he has no future with the Red Devils, especially with the arrival of Jadon Sancho.
If he does make the sensible choice and decides to move on, you would think West Ham should be able to seal the deal for Lingard.
