West Ham target Jakub Kiwior set to make transfer decision after World Cup

West Ham target and Spezia ace Jakub Kiwior is reportedly set to make his transfer decision after the World Cup in Qatar in December.

According to Sky Sports Italy journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 22-year-old was on the Hammers’ radar in the summer and is now also being looked at by many clubs.

West Ham submitted a £10.7million bid for the player in the summer but saw it turned down by the Serie A club as they felt he was worth more.

Discussing this on the Here We Go Podcast, Romano said at 15:24, “Very good player for Spezia. This guy is very good. He has very good skills, he can play as a centre-back and as a midfielder.

“West Ham, during the summer made a verbal proposal, not official proposal but a verbal proposal to Spezia. 12million euro – 10+2 add-ons and Spezia said no, they want more than this.

“AC Milan are also interested [with West Ham] but not just them, many clubs interested in Kiwior.

“He will decide after the World Cup.”

Move on

West Ham certainly do not need another centre-back or midfielder in January so a move for the Poland international now seems off the cards.

Even if David Moyes wanted him, the chances of them signing him will be close to none as not only Milan but other clubs are also keeping tabs on him.

They will be able to offer him Champions League football and if other clubs are of similar stature, wages will also be higher than what the Hammers can offer him.

Instead, the Hammers may look to sign a wide attacker or a right-back in January because their players in those areas are massively underperforming this season.

They may have come agonisingly close to signing Kiwior in the summer, but it seems like they will not pursue his services wholeheartedly from here on.

Moyes is also facing a big battle on his hand and he needs to be improving the players he has at his disposal rather than signing new ones.
