West Ham table £50m bid for Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips
West Ham have reportedly submitted a record-breaking and ‘mega’ £50million bid for Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
According to The Sun, David Moyes has been given the funds to spend and he’s keen on signing the England international who put in terrific displays at Euro 2020.
The report claims that the Hammers are prepared to wait and sign him in the summer if the Whites aren’t open to an immediate sale.

Bizarre
The Hammers are keen on signing centre-backs and strikers in the January window.
Due to Angelo Ogbonna’s age and injury and Michail Antonio needing to be replaced, these were two positions Moyes had earmarked.
To see bids of this magnitude going for another midfielder makes very little sense.
The Hammers have two quality midfielders in Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek who have exceeded expectations.

Alex Kral is also there as a backup who’s got a high ceiling and could be signed permanently in the summer.
To add to that, Conor Coventry will also step into a more senior role next season and the funds they have must not go into signing another midfielder.
While Phillips would undoubtedly be a solid addition, the club need to fill deficiencies in other areas before they think of shelling out this kind of money on another midfielder.
