West Ham table £21million bid for Reims striker Hugo Ekitike
West Ham United have submitted a £21million bid for Reims striker Hugo Ekitike after their initial bid was rejected, according to French outlet Le10Sport.
The Hammers tabled £13million for the signature of the 19-year-old earlier this month, but the Ligue 1 outfit were not convinced.
The London Stadium outfit have now returned with an improved offer, including bonuses, for Ekitike, but it was not deemed enough either, with Reims believing they can get more for him.

Blow?
With eight goals and two assists in 18 league appearances this term, it is clear to see that the Frenchman is talented.
However, his club want top dollar from West Ham and co for him, and that is surely frustrating his suitors.
Given his age, Ekitike can become a long-term successor to Michail Antonio, and it is understandable to see why he is an attractive option for the Hammers.
He also potentially has a huge resale value should he keep improving, and that could also be another reason West Ham are keen on a move this month.

However, it appears they need to stump up the cash for his services, and it is hard to see them agreeing to go above £21million.
That they have submitted such an offer for the teenage sensation is not particularly believable, but given that it is a position David Moyes has wanted to strengthen for a while, it would not be surprising if they have indeed gone in with such a bid.
They would have run the rule over him several times and become convinced that he has what it takes to hit the ground running if he arrives at the club this month.
At the moment, the Irons have to part with more money for Ekitike’s signature, and they do not have much time left to keep dilly-dallying.
