West Ham are reportedly willing to pay the £14million Fiorentina want for centre-back Nikola Milenkovic.

According to 90Min, what’s holding the deal back is third party fees, which the club are expecting to agree soon and get the deal over the line.

The 23-year-old is also still to agree personal terms with the club, with his representatives holding talks over the past week.

This news certainly came as a relief for a number of anxious West Ham fans who were waiting for a positive update on the Milenkovic situation.

They took to Facebook to discuss the Serbian defender and also threw shade at David Gold and the rest of the board.

Here’s what they said:

Get this done, GSB

The fans are right in their assessment of the defender, but are equally spot while describing how transfers work at the club.

There have been needless delays which have led to transfer sagas being drawn into weeks and oftentimes into months which eventually does not help the manager or others inside the dressing room.

We’ve been hearing positive reports surrounding Milenkovic for the past few days but we’re sure it’s going to be a while before things reach a stage where we can breathe a sigh of relief.

As things stand, we’re playing the waiting game and hoping that the two parties have more positive talks in the coming days and get the deal over the line.
