West Ham could look to sign Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, according to ExWHUemployee.

The Hammers are short on options in midfield and could look to bring in the England international on loan.

He would offer David Moyes a versatile option in the team as he’s capable of playing as a holding midfielder, a more advanced box-to-box role, a winger, wing-back as well as full-back.

One major concern about the player, however, since his Arsenal days, was his fitness record.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is way too susceptible to injuries and that could be the reason why Moyes looks the other way.

Hammers fans on Facebook also had a similar take on the story when asked whether or not they would want the midfielder at the London Stadium next season.

Here’s what they said:

Decent squad player

Signing the English midfielder as last resort would not be the worst idea. He’s anyway linked to us on loan, so there’s no transfer involved and we mustn’t even consider the idea of buying him outright.

He’s a utility player that can be used in different systems and would fit into all the systems Moyes deployed last season.

Very few left wing-backs are right-footed and playing Chamberlain there could see him have the same impact as Leonardo Spinazzola did for Italy at Euro 2020.

We’re not getting too ahead of ourselves as there’s still a long way before he becomes our primary target this summer.
