West Ham Super Fans raves about Craig Dawson after win v West Brom

This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Ham Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around the London Stadium.

West Ham returned to winning ways in exciting fashion on Wednesday night as they came from behind to beat West Brom 3-1 at The Hawthorns.

Declan Rice was guilty of the earliest penalty miss in Premier League history before Matheus Pereira’s deflected corner put the Baggies ahead.

However, Tomas Soucek’s goal just before half-time sparked the Irons into life before Angelo Ogbonna and Michail Antonio netted late to wrap up all three points for David Moyes and his men.

We asked our panel of West Ham Super Fans after the game to name their man of the match for the win at The Hawthorns.

And it was “immense” ex-Baggies defender Craig Dawson who stood out most on his return to the Black Country.

Here is what they had to say:

Bobby (@Bobby27590293)

Teddy Isaacs (@T_dIsaacs)

Lena Starr (@LenaWHU)

W David Row (@wdavidrow)

Stuart Ling (@HammerStu76)

Dawson has been a great signing for West Ham, playing 23 times and scoring four goals in all competitions since arriving at the London Stadium from Watford.

He’s shown he has a superb level of experience in the Premier League and has been massive at improving the defence and also adding an aerial threat in the attack.

Against West Brom, Dawson made four interceptions, which was more than anyone else on the pitch at The Hawthorns [WhoScored].

It was a great performance by him but we agree with the other Super Fans who also hailed Darren Randolph, who made some fantastic saves, and Said Benrahma.

That’s been the thing with the Hammers this season, there’s not just been one stand-out player, it’s been a team effort.

In other West Ham news, this “world-famous” Hammer is wanted by a club in Europe and a loan-to-buy deal is on the cards.
