West Ham Super Fans blown away by Manuel Lanzini performance v Burnley

This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Ham Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around the London Stadium.

West Ham kept themselves in contention for a spot in the 2021/22 Champions League with a 2-1 win against Burnley on Monday night.

David Moyes watched on as his side came from behind to win 2-1 at Turf Moor with returning striker Michail Antonio grabbing a first-half brace.

It was a tense night for all Hammers fans who sat and watched the match unfold but in the end, the Irons did enough to earn the win and stay three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea with four games to go.

After the match, we asked our panel of West Ham Super Fans to say who stood out for them most in the win in Lancashire.

Manuel Lanzini was someone who was mentioned over and over again with one supporter claiming he was like “prime Modric” in the 2-1 win.

Here is what they had to say:

Lanzini was in sublime form at Turf Moor with stats by WhoScored showing the Argentine completed 95 per cent of his passes and completing one key pass.

The 28-year-old has been a bit of an outcast this season, starting just three times in the Premier League before Moyes named him in his starting line-up at Burnley.

However, you wouldn’t have thought that based on the way he played.

Lanzini wasn’t the only one to impress either with our Super Fans also hailing goalscoring hero Antonio, Said Benrahma and Vladimir Coufal also getting mentioned.
