West Ham still keen on signing Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma
West Ham are reportedly still keen on signing France international Kurt Zouma with Chelsea yet to find a resolution for the centre-back’s future.
According to Sky Sports Italy journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are in talks with Sevilla defender Jules Kounde and are preparing to make a bid for him.
Kounde is seen as a potential replacement for the 26-year-old Zouma, who is still on the Hammers’ radar for this summer.
Via his personal Twitter account, Romano wrote, “Chelsea are in direct contact with Sevilla for Jules Kounde deal.
“Talks ongoing – new bid coming soon from Chelsea, as they know Sevilla won’t sell Kounde on final days of the window.
“Timing will be key. Chelsea need to find a solution for Zouma. [West Ham still keen]”
Let’s do this
Chelsea will need the funds to sign Kounde as they’ve been desperate to sign him this summer.
Selling Zouma to us, in our price range, would be a good deal for us and would also free up some money for them to sign the Sevilla defender.
Signing a centre-back now seems to be the club’s priority before a striker so once we get Zouma in we could divert our attention towards a striker.

Zouma is a quality centre-back who’s at the perfect age of 26. He’s got a few years left in the tank and could go on to become a mainstay in our team.
In December last year, Frank Lampard, then Chelsea manager, waxed lyrical about the ex-Stoke loanee.
Via the club’s official website, “The level he’s playing at week-in, week-out is brilliant.”
We’re hoping to see some of his brilliance at the London Stadium and it’s now down to the club to get this one over the line.
