West Ham start process to officially sack Lopetegui, team cancellation informed
West Ham have started the official process that will see Julen Lopetegui sacked, according to The Telegraph.
The newspaper reported on 7 January that on Tuesday evening, the Irons started to move forward with getting rid of the 58-year-old Spaniard just over five months into the two-year deal he signed with the London club in the summer.
It is understood that Lopetegui was due to have a meal with his squad on Tuesday. However, The Telegraph has said that players have been informed that’s been cancelled due to Lopetegui’s situation.
Tim Steidtein to be sacked by West Ham as well
Lopetegui isn’t the only man to blame for West Ham’s woes this season.
Tim Steidten hired the former Wolves manager in the summer to replace David Moyes, who was constantly at odds with the German, if reports are to be believed.
Now, The Telegraph claims that Lopetegui has been “infuriated” by Steidten’s behaviour in recent weeks after an image emerged of him talking with out-of-work ex-Chelsea manager Graham Potter.

Steidten is also said to have “stepped away” from Rush Green with the pressure rising on Lopetegui.
Say what you want about Lopetegui as a manager, but the lack of support and the downright disrespect he’s been shown by Steidten is disgraceful and David Sullivan and co need to get rid of him as soon as possible as well.
It seems baffling that he’s leading the charge to hire Lopetegui’s replacement.
Who on earth would want to work with him after all the reported clashes with Moyes and the way he’s gone about his business with Lopetegui’s incoming dismissal?
In other West Ham news, the stance of the Hammers has been shared if they don’t manage to land Potter.
