West Ham staff fume as plans leaked on Transfer Room forum

West Ham staff were left angered after plans for what positions they are targeting this window were published online, according to the Daily Mail.

Simon Jones wrote as part of his online transfer confidential column that their list of requirements in the transfer market were published on the Transfer Room forum.

Jones explained that the forum is “used by clubs and agents to discuss what and who is in the marketplace but is shunned by many”.

He noted that left-back, centre-back, defensive midfield, attacking midfield, winger and striker were all noted as positions the Hammers were targeting and that a budget of £20million per position had been set aside with the club also willing to use the loan market.

More window woe

This window just has not been fun at all for West Ham, for their supporters, manager David Moyes, and the club’s hierarchy.

It took an age to get the deal over the line to sell captain Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105million despite it being the worst-kept secret in football.

There has then been a disconnect between Moyes and new technical director Tim Steidten over the direction the club should take in terms of transfer signings.

Several targets have been said to be on the cusp and then not arrived for whatever reason.

And now, a list of the positions they want to target during the transfer window has been leaked seemingly against the wishes of the club’s staff.

The good news is that Edson Alvarez looks close to joining from Ajax, while West Ham are said to be pressing ahead with a new bid new Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.

If it is true they want seven new signings then the clock is ticking…

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are set to push ahead with plans to bid for Manchester United ace Scott McTominay.
