West Ham set to table fresh bid for Benfica forward Darwin Nunez
West Ham are reportedly set to make a fresh bid for Benfica forward Darwin Nunez to sign him before Monday’s deadline.
According to The Sun, the Hammers made a £37million plus add-ons bid for the 22-year-old which was rejected.
Benfica are keen to do business for Nunez and it’s believed that the previous offer was not too far off from their valuation of the player.

Good player
Nunez is a Uruguay international who’s got an impressive goal-scoring record at club level.
He’s bagged 15 goals in 16 league games and a staggering 20 in 25 matches in all competitions.
Signing a 22-year-old who’s this good will only be seen as an investment that’s worth making.
Hopefully, David Sullivan and David Gold loosen their purse strings to sanction a mammoth second bid soon.
The Hammers are running out of time so they need to make a quick offer before the window closes.

Once it’s accepted, it will be about agreeing on personal terms and Nunez could fancy a move if he’s sold on the Hammers project.
The club are on the rise and fighting for Champions League football so there’s a good reason why he would want to move to the London Stadium.
However, with West Ham, things are never guaranteed and it remains to be seen what happens.
