West Ham set to sign Pervis Estupinan after Villarreal defender makes decision

West Ham are set to beat Napoli to the signing of Pervis Estupinan, according to a report from CalcioNapoli24.

They claim that the 23-year-old, who has been linked with a move to the Serie A giants, is “very close” to moving to the London Stadium and wants to joine the Hammers. They believe that he is “destined for the Premier League.”

The report also reveals that Napoli can’t sign Estupinan because of the fee demanded by Villarreal and the player’s wage demands, and all roads point to him joining West Ham.

Estupinan to the London Stadium?

This report has come out of nowhere, but it pretty much suggests that the left-back is nailed on to be signed by the Hammers.

West Ham already have two first-team left-backs; however, Aaron Cresswell often finds himself at centre-back as part of a back three and Arthur Masuaku was injured a lot last season.

So perhaps a new left-back is exactly what David Moyes’ side need, and Estupinan is young and has made 63 La Liga appearances. So he has a bit of experience at the top level, while the speedster helped Villarreal win the Europa League last season.

He has also been described as “dazzling” by Breaking The Lines in the past and was clearly a player who Napoli wanted to sign, which suggests that he must be at least pretty good.

We will have to see what happens with Estupinan now, but if this report is to be believed, he will be joining West Ham at some point.

Certainly, you could say the Hammers need a left-back, so we will be keeping our eye on this story as the transfer window progresses.
