West Ham set to meet Filip Kostic agent to discuss transfer details

West Ham United are in set to hold discussions with Eintracht Frankfurt defender Filip Kostic’s agent, according to Claret and Hugh.

The Hammers are in the market to sign players to strengthen the squad ahead of the next campaign and for this purpose, they have been linked with the 29-year-old.

As per the latest report, the Irons are set to have a meeting with Kostic’s agent Alessandro Lucci in Germany on Friday.

The report further stated that West Ham are ready to offer to double the salary of the Serbia international in order to persuade him to join the club.

Versatile Fullback

West Ham are going through a transitional phase after a successful season where they ended up reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League and lost to eventual winners Frankfurt.

One of the reasons why the Hammers had a troubling end to their successful campaign was the defensive unit and in particular the full-backs.

Therefore, in order to correct that, it is important that the Irons will make a move for a player like Kostic who can play in more than one position which would strengthen the squad overall.

West Ham

The 29-year-old has been a Frankfurt player since the summer of 2019 when he moved from Hamburg in a deal worth £5.4 million.

Since then, Kostic, who is now in the final year of his contract with the club, has represented the side in 169 matches across all competitions where he has managed to score 33 goals and provided 63 assists in the process [Transfermarkt].
