West Ham set to make move for Daniele Rugani

West Ham are set to reignite their interest in Juventus defender Daniele Rugani in January, according to a new report.

Calciomercato claim that the Hammers want to sign the 27-year-old Italian international on loan to cover for Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna.

The Irons were linked with a move for Rugani in the 2020 summer transfer window, and it appears as if they might be going back in for the Juventus man [Gianluca Di Marzio].

The Irons definitely need to sign a centre-back in January, and Rugani could be the man they need.

A move that makes sense.

Rugani has only played in four games for the Old Lady this season. Those games only total 90 minutes on the pitch in the league.

However, his country has capped him in the past and he has made 134 Serie A appearances.

Therefore, if David Moyes decides he wants an experienced centre-back to take the Irons through the rest of the season, he could be the man they need.

Rugani has also been described as a “superstar” by ESPN in the past [2018], so he is clearly valued in the world of football, and a loan would make sense.

If they signed him on loan, they wouldn’t be taking too many risks, and if it doesn’t work out, he can go back to Juventus at the end of the season.

However, if he impresses, then he would have the chance of earning a permanent move to the London Stadium.

Therefore, this is a transfer we have our eyes on.

In other West Ham news, one senior man is set to miss the Dinamo Zagreb game.
