West Ham sensational Emmanuel Longelo likely to leave this summer

West Ham defender Emmanuel Longelo is reportedly one of the likeliest to depart this summer.

According to ExWHUemployee, it could even be a loan move but an exit is very much on the cards for the young defender.

While he is not yet on a move away from the club, despite left-back being a problem position, he is not viewed as an immediate first-team player.

Ex wrote, “We can confirm that Emmanuel Longelo is recovering from a minor injury which is the explanation behind his recent Instagram post. Whilst the left back faces an uncertain future, he is not on the brink of a move yet and his immediate targets are a quick recovery from the injury.

“Nottingham Forest were close to signing him last year but their interest has cooled. Longelo, like many other academy players, are currently trying to impress the manager and secure their long term future at the club during preseason although it is thought at this stage Longelo is one of the players more likely to depart, at least on loan.”

Keep him

One cannot predict the kind of injuries Aaron Cresswell could sustain in the coming weeks and months.

He’s on the wrong side of 30 and it’s going to be tougher with each passing season for him to stay fit.

Arthur Masuaku has proven to be inconsistent and has fitness issues of his own.

If there is a market for him, the club must look to sell him.

Longelo is recovering from an injury but has impressed with the under-23s and should be given a chance to prove his worth to David Moyes.

Hopefully, West Ham reconsider this decision as it’s going to be an important one if they don’t sign a left-back.
