West Ham send scouts in friendly fixture to see performance of Ben Brereton Diaz

West Ham United have sent scouts to evaluate the performance of Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz, according to the Sun.

The Hammers are in the market to sign attacking players in the ongoing transfer window and are already closing in on the signing of Gianluca Scamacca.

However, as per the latest report, the Irons scouts were present at Blackburn’s pre-season fixture against Lincoln City on Saturday afternoon.

Striker Position

There is no doubt that West Ham need a striker this window. After the Europa League defeat last season, Moyes rued the lack of goals within his side.

After the signature of Scamacca, it seems like the former Manchester United man has not put an end to his striker hunt and sending scouts to see Diaz’s performance is another indication of that.

Signing the Chile international will be a bold move by Moyes because he understands the importance of three strikers in a squad for a team that is competing in four different competitions.

West Ham

As Antonio had injury concerns in the last season, the addition of Scamacca and Diaz will improve the squad significantly ahead of the next campaign.

In the previous campaign, the 23-year-old was extremely influential for the Rovers in front of the goal where he netted 22 times and provided three assists in 39 appearances in all competitions [Transfermarkt].
