West Ham progress with Kurt Zouma talks, want announcement ASAP – report

West Ham United are progressing with personal talks for Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, according to Julien Maynard.

The Telefoot journalist has shared that the Irons want the deal done as soon as possible and very quickly in the final week of the window.

It is suggested that the two parties aren’t that distant between their demands over the wages as things stand.

Maynard shared the major news on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon as the Irons close in.

“Tottenham are no longer in the race for Kurt Zouma,” he wrote.

“Discussions are progressing with West Ham, which wants to finalize the deal very quickly. No agreement for the moment, but the positions of each one are not very distant anymore.”

Progressing.

West Ham finally look to have made progress with this deal.

Zouma looks to have been the priority since early in this window for our defensive signing, and it has been put ahead of the likes of Nikola Milenkovic.

The Frenchman needs to be sold for Chelsea to make more signings this summer, and with the distance between both getting smaller, the announcement could be imminent.

David Moyes want more options in defence alongside another attacking addition, and if this Zouma deal can be wrapped up ASAP, it leaves more time to get the latter over the line too.
