West Ham player ratings v Wolves: Maxwel Cornet stinks, Jarrod Bowen shines
West Ham finally ended their wretched run of form in the Premier League with a 2-0 win against Wolves on Saturday in the London Stadium.
Gianluca Scamacca and Jarrod Bowen both found the back of the net as David Moyes eased some pressure on his shoulders.
This result took the Hammers out of the relegation to 15th place while Wolves are now in the relegation zone with questions being asked of Bruno Lage.

Here’s how we rated the Hammers:
Lukasz Fabianski – 7
Thilo Kehrer – 6
Playing at right-back actually made him look like a decent signing as he did not really enjoy life as a West Ham player as a centre-back. He’ll only get better but today was a sign that he’s heading in the right direction.
Craig Dawson – 7
His return to the side gives this team a much more assured look at the back and he’s undoubtedly preferred to Kehrer at the heart of defence. He’s also on the same page as Kurt Zouma and their communication is exemplary.
Kurt Zouma – 7
Kept the opposition at bay as he often cleared his lines rather than dribbling or passing his way out of trouble. Different teams require different approaches and we believe the Frenchman did the right thing.
Aaron Cresswell – 6
The left-back had one of his better games this season but this is not an endorsement for him starting over Emerson. We believe that against bigger teams, many of the flaws that weren’t exposed today will be apparent.
Tomas Soucek -5
Had a few wayward passes in the first half, but became much better in the second half. Often decided to sit back in order to give Declan Rice the licence to attack more.

Declan Rice – 7
Ventured forward more in the second half and that was actually what Wolves on the back foot. Won possession higher up and played important passes into the final third as well.
Jarrod Bowen – 8
After weeks without being the club’s best player, the Englishman finally showed why he was linked with the likes of Liverpool in the summer. Scored a wonderful goal and was a constant threat going forward as well.
Lucas Paqueta -4
Not the best of games for the summer signing and maybe him playing deeper should be the way to get the best out of him.
Maxwel Cornet -3
Was withdrawn in the first half and while it’s harsh to criticise him, he was one of the worst players on the pitch. He lost possession on five occasions, despite touching the ball only 10 times and he only completed three passes which was disappointing.

Gianluca Scamacca – 7.5
Got the first Premier League goal he was looking for and surely it’s not the last one he’ll get before long. He was brilliant today and his link-up play will do his confidence wonders.
