West Ham player Darren Randolph fined for speeding

West Ham United backup goalkeeper Darren Randolph has been fined and handed six points on his driving license for speeding, according to The Sun.

The 34-year-old, who has not played all season for the Hammers, committed the offence on Tower Bridge on 8 September last year but a hearing in Bromley Magistrates court has seen him finally punished for his actions.

He was fined £440 for the offence which makes up less than two per cent of his £42,000 weekly wage at the Irons, according to The Sun.

The speed at which he was driving over Tower Bridge has not been revealed to the public with the Republic of Ireland international driving an electric Jaguar SUV at the time.

End of the road

Randolph has been a very useful player to have around the club as a last resort in recent seasons for West Ham but maybe now he has run his cause at the London Stadium.

Lukasz Fabianski is a certain number one with Alphonse Areola a very good backup and cup shot-stopper.

David Martin has become the club’s third-choice too which has pushed the 34-year-old down the pecking order considerably.

The Irons could have Nathan Trott returning next season too who has enjoyed a good season with Nancy in France’s Ligue 2 which would hamper his chances even further.

There will be a lot of teams in the Championship, and maybe even Premier League sides, who would love someone of Randolph’s experience and he is still more than capable of performing to a high level.

But now the time has come for him and the Hammers to take separate roads into the distance and say their goodbyes.

In other West Ham news, this Bundesliga side would accept a bid of just £8million for a defender the Irons really want.
