West Ham planning to sign Youssef En-Nesyri in January

West Ham United are planning to return for the signature of Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri in January, according to Fichajes.

The Hammers wanted the Moroccan international, 24, last January as a replacement for Sebastien Haller, but they saw the La Liga outfit reject their bid worth £27 million [The Athletic].

En-Nesyri was also linked with them in the summer as David Moyes looked to finally replace the Ajax star, but the club ended up without any striking signing.

West Ham

They are hoping to be third-time lucky, and while Sevilla are not looking to entertain bids, West Ham intend to return for him.

Hopeful?

The North African hitman ended last term with 24 goals across all competitions for Sevilla and has been involved in four goals in six La Liga appearances in 2021-22.

En-Nesyri clearly knows where the back of the net is having also impressed while at Leganes, and he is the type of finisher very much capable of improving West Ham attack.

They already boast of Michail Antonio who has hit the ground running this season, but they cannot afford to rely on the Jamaican international for the whole of the season.

His injury history does not look good, and missing him for some games could deal a blow on the Hammers’ campaign.

Landing En-Nesyri mid-way through the campaign could prove abortive, though.

West Ham

He is currently playing in the Champions League with Sevilla and looking to challenge for major silverware this term, and West Ham will have to break the bank to have any chance of convincing both player and club to do business.
