West Ham open contract talks with Jarrod Bowen

West Ham have reportedly opened talks over a new contract with attacker Jarrod Bowen.

According to Claret and Hugh, the club want to repay the Englishman for his recent form by offering him a new deal.

The Times claim that Liverpool are circling around the 25-year-old and could look to sign him in the summer.

Good move

Bowen, like Declan Rice, is an asset whose value is only going to skyrocket in the coming years.

There may be wisdom to cashing in on him, but the Hammers want to move away from the selling club moniker.

If they are to realistically push for the top four this season, then these are the kinds of players they need to retain at all costs.

The 25-year-old has been enjoying a phenomenal run of form in the past few months, and he has been hailed as “impeccable” by Micah Richards (13 February).

A new deal would come with a pay hike and send a message to Liverpool that they’re not keen on doing business just yet.

From what we’ve been reading, there’s nothing that suggests Bowen wants to leave so it could work out to be for the best.

He has become one of the focal points of the attack so it makes sense why he wants to stay.
